Blessed with rich experiences throughout my career in education, my focus continues to instill in children the joy of learning. In addition to professional development, my strengths are school improvement planning and implementation in schools with a low SES status and building teams of well-trained, purpose-driven educators who are committed to excellence. With a strong background in data analysis, I empower staff with concrete knowledge to develop formative instructional assessments aligned clearly on what each student needs. My passion for developing a school and community network with strong ties to educational support only helps to build capacity for student learning and student success. It is important to surround yourself with positive, knowledgeable and motivated people who share a common vision for children and the values of life.
Specialties: Data Analysis, Educational Administration, Application of Technology in Education, Evaluation of Staff, Databased Decision Making, and Assessment.
I value working alongside the community educating all children and am a focused, collaborative visionary.
About my family, one Sunday afternoon while at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, I went to the basement to get a bucket of ice. I couldn't help but notice a very handsome young man doing his laundry and I thought, "WOW!" and was compelled to call my mother and tell her that I had found the "man I was going to marry!" Well, fast forward that summer we married and 40 plus years later and have 3 wonderful adult children and 10 (including a set of twins). We spend our time with family, wildlife rescue and facilitating dog transports moving dogs out of kill shelters to safety in their new "forever home" often several states away. We also enjoy boating and water sports.
Having transferred with my husband’s job from Jonesboro, Arkansas to Illinois over 20 years ago, moving back home to Northwest Arkansas upon his retirement has been wonderful. The beauty of the mountains and the fog nestled in the valleys is so inspiring on my drive to school in the mornings. The people in Berryville and the surrounding area welcomed us warmly.
